Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, April 5th, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM (CET).

We are excited to announce an online industry workshop titled "Innovating Renewable Energy System for Covering a Large Share of Energy Needs in Buildings." The workshop is being organized by NTUA and DAIKIN, and will feature a panel of five expert speakers who will showcase an innovative renewable energy system based on a novel heat pump-based configuration. This system is capable of providing space heating, space cooling, domestic hot water (DHW), and electricity, while meeting the heating and cooling demand and variable electricity demand of a building in a cost-effective manner suitable for various building types and sizes without any geographical restriction. The workshop aims to encourage building industry stakeholders to share their thoughts and reflections on the impact of the innovative operating system on the pace and direction of European heat decarbonization policy.

Featured Speakers:

  • Opening Remarks (Project overview): Prof. Sotirios Karellas - SolBio-Rev H2020 Project Coordinator - National Technical University of Athens
  • Innovative components and configurations: Dr. Andrea Frazzica - CNR-ITAE, Istituto di Tecnologie Avanzate per l'Energia
  • System control: Mr. Antonios Charalampidis – National Technical University of Athens
  • Prototypes design: Maximilian Weitzer - Chair of Energy Process Engineering, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg
  • Life-cycle analysis and building integration: Prof. Dr. Luisa F. Cabeza - GREiA Research Group, University of Lleida
  • Q&A Session: Chaired by Prof. Sotirios Karellas
